Sen. Angus King, the independent from Maine, said it’s “very disturbing” that Trump took the U.S. to war because Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted to bomb Iran. Past U.S. presidents, he said, “have consistently said, ‘No.’”
Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii said the briefing left him with more questions than answers…
While presidents have the authority as the commander in chief to conduct certain strategic military operations on their own, the Constitution vests Congress with the power to wage war. Before the Iraq War began in March 2003, Republican President George W. Bush made a monthslong push to secure congressional authorization.
No such vote was attempted on Iran, and an earlier Senate effort to halt Trump’s actions after last summer’s strike on Iran failed.
USA is a failed state
It’s a failed democracy / humane state. It’s doing wonderfully as a dictatorship. The rich are profiting quite a bit off this I’m sure.
I guess with my first comment I won’t get a visa for the USA anymore
