He’s in an awkward spot. He basically has to schmooze Trump so that Trump doesn’t pull out of NATO.

He critisized the nato members who did not accept to help directly the usa war of agression. Stop making excuses for this shitty person

counterpoint: he is a career sycophant doing exactly what he has always done, suck it up to the boss. a worthless sack of flesh.

Well from his point of view he probably does feel like he has no choice. That doesn’t justify what Trump did and it doesn’t justify supporting him though

He’s aware that he has choices but won’t do them because he has to let Israel finish it’s genocides/ethnic-cleansings first.

We don’t give a damn. Anybody who can’t condemn genocide threats is in no position to be in any position of power. He also blame nato members for not supporting the illegal war

At this point NATO is a meaningless accord like every accord with the US. See also the ceasefire they jus threw in the bin.

Why the fuck does NATO need to us? Aren’t there enough powerful countries in NATO without them? Maybe it’s time to move away from over-reliance on the US on defence like everything else.

No, NATO is thoroughly dependent on the US, it’s essentially a means for US imperial power projection. The EU is thoroughly defanged.

Longterm thats a great goal. But the war in Ukraine is happening as we speak, and the inly thing stopping Putin from spreading the war to the rest of Europe is his fear of NATO.
