They’ve demonstrated their ability to enforce the closure of Hormuz, and this is effectively equivalent to what the US has been doing with economic sanctions directed against the west.
Maybe they’re going for “destabilize the U.S?” You know, like the U.S’s explicit war goal for Iran?
