As I mentioned to the other replier, other countries don’t have the mass promotion of gun violence coupled with the ready access to an incredible variety of firearms.
Oh, I completely agree. There is no single thing that is the “magic cure”. There are a bunch of factors that add up to a fetishization of guns and gun culture / violence in the US. And the incredible availability of guns makes gun violence inevitable.
I hear what you’re saying, but how many hours are logged by some swimming in images of fps games? I’d argue, from my interaction with teens, that there are far more hours logged than passively watching any media. But that’s not the point anyway.
Our American society is swimming with a gun obsession. Whether it’s via video games, movies, social media, politicians, the NRA, “2nd ammendment cities” (wtf), and too many more avenues to think of. Games are just one vector of marketing guns to a maleable population. The core of this suit is that a manufacturer was pushing their models within the game in collusion with Activision. I believe advertising guns to a kids demographic is prohibited. I’d search it, but I’m lazy and the AI results would be wrong anyway.
I get what you’re saying, but in the case of the games in question, it’s a bit of a chicken-and-egg situation, don’t you agree? Get them while they’re young and impressionable?
“…soaring up all the lists that matter…”
Maybe, objectively, our methodology for measuring greatness/worth is flawed.

Revanced forums are straight-up toxic. Any setup questions are smugly redirected at the unusable documentation, as you pointed out. For some reason, there’s an elitist attitude in that group.
Setting aside the conflation of “5 minutes” to “5 seconds” for a bit just to say: setting up ReVanced is a gigantic pain in the ass. I’ve only ever been on the android platform. I’ve sideloaded apps. Also been in the technology industry for almost 3 decades. The documentation is dog shit. The official user forum r/revanced, (iirc) is a fucking circlejerk. Their own faq and top pinned “definitive install guide” post is out of date and just plain wrong. Down thread, whenever someone has questions (inevitably, because the documentation is fucked (see previous)), some smarmy asshat has the audacity to direct the confused newb to the same flawed docs.
I swear, fanatics are their own worst enemies. Now, I’m not saying you’re a fanatic. But sideloading that app in 5 mins (or seconds, depending on which sentence you’re relying on)? Yeah, bullshit.
The moment of inertia on that upper deck is going to snap those seats like a twig. While I’m sure there’s airline execs foaming at the mouth and lobbyists pushing wheelbarrows of money, I’ll drive before I get in one of those.
Also, more passengers plus less overhead bin storage means less cargo hold capacity, meaning air cargo (a valuable income stream, particularly on transcontinental or transoceanic flights, where the widebodies would be most used) would be cut back by more checked bags. And more discontent by pax that now have to pay for checked bag fees.
I dunno, I just don’t see the benefits.
“would not be in that position”?!? What version of reality are you smoking where these seats are gonna freaking move to vertical?
Edit: on further inspection, you’re gonna go full ATM if you sit upright. You’re so low to the floor to accommodate the upper decker that your knees would be in your chest cavity if they were on the floor. Frack every bit of this idea in the neck, sideways, with a screwdriver.
Have you ever been in an airliner? “upright an locked in their vertical positions” - ever heard that? Putting goddamned laz-e-boys in the middle of an airliner is gonna lead to corpses in the event of a catestrophoc accident. (not that it would stop the airline industry, if it could)
These will not see the light of day until the industry coughs up enough money to buy off enough legislation oversight to make the FAA egress rules “agreeable”.
Or Apple phones, or Amazon echo devices, or the entire surveillance economy.
And men mostly spread it to women, who develop cervical cancer.
Same thing we do with .local - “click here to proceed (unsafe)” :D
Set up my work’s network waay back on NT4. 0 as .local cuz I was learning and didn’t know any better, has been that way ever since.
