Today’s high temp and humidity in Rio gives them a Wet Bulb Globe Temperature of 77⁰F, which is not great. WBGT of 80⁰-90⁰F is the danger zone, and recent research has suggested that WBGT 85⁰ is probably a more realistic upper limit of human safety.

Medicine doesn’t even have solutions for so many of these problems, and half the government wants to take away one of the few tools available to us to keep women alive and healthy.

Tell that to the healthy 45 year old father of two who I watched die in 2020.

How are we not done with these same old stale lies yet? Covid infections cause a greater increase in risk of myocarditis. I literally just had a guy in his 30s with post-viral myocarditis on my unit a couple weeks ago.

You know what strengthens your immune system against an evolving viral threat? Booster vaccines that teach your adaptive immune system how to fight that exact viral threat.

Eat healthy, exercise, make sure you maintain your vitamin D levels AND ALSO get the god damned vaccine please.

People’s legs being in that position would negate what is considered a safe evacuation. Modern regulations stipulate that you have 90 seconds to get everyone off the plane safely with 50% of the emergency exits blocked. That’s why you’re required to be seated completely upright with your feet on the floor during takeoff and landing. So you can stand up immediately if anything goes wrong and you need to evacuate.

Bin Laden wanted the US military out of Saudi Arabia and the fall of the Saudi royal family who he saw as traitors to Islam. He also thought terrorist attacks would unite Muslims from different countries and cultures against “the west,” which of course was a pipe dream. But he had no particular reason to expect reprisal against Iraq for 9/11 because Iraq had not one fucking thing to do with it. That war was 100% lies.

It’s a huge problem in the towns and cities immediately on the other side of the border and that’s the primary concern here. Imagine where you live and 671 unhoused and unfed human beings walked into your town every. single. day. No local municipality in the world has the resources to deal with that. It has to be the federal government.

That’s not to suggest that building walls in the wilderness is an effective intervention. But it is an unfortunately popular one. It must be coupled with federal programs to receive, house, and find work for the people arriving at areas not blocked by a wall.

But the people living in those border towns don’t deserve to be burdened with a problem created by federal government policies. The feds need to fix the problem.
