such is the curse of living in interesting times.

though a quick us collapse will make the future look much better.

Nah it won’t the future is looking shit for ordinary people because of climate change it doesn’t matter what happens. The rise in anti social attitudes and this general sense of resignation towards all of this being inevitable doesn’t bode well. AFAIK these attitudes exist everywhere and technology only seems to be making all of this worse. I don’t see those trends changing any time soon.

these attitudes are carefully engineered in people.

i wonder when (if?) we will snap out of it.

Yes but they’re pervasive literally everywhere, it doesn’t matter what ideology people have. Selfishness and avarice are what drive most people. Rich societies also provide enough material benefits to keep this kind of beheivour going.

For example my Grandmother let her best friend who she migrated away from her home country with just live in her house for free for basically her whole life, I can’t imagine any one acting like this now a days. I really hate this conclusion that I’ve come to, but I just think adversity is what creates solidarity. It’s exactly what bread and circuses are meant to distract you from.

you are complaining about peoples’s ideology and saying their ideology doesn’t matter on the same breath.

this takes work to upkeep with a constant barrage of propaganda the internet unconsciously puts in the brains of people worldwide. and the hipnosis is going to dissipate when the ones maintaining this barrage goes away.

the sooner it goes away, the most chances we have to survive through our problems.

I don’t know if these opinions are formed by ideology though, because I see this behavior in leftists and right wing people. That’s why I don’t know if ideology still matters in the traditional sense. I’ve had leftists steal from me to make money just like I’ve had right wingers steal from me. What they believe in seems to make 0 fucking difference because they behave the same way.

we are all still living in a capitalist hellhole where money is king but also scarce, and no one has time or money for a dignified life.

it’s not about the individual’s ideology, but what’s collectively forced upon us. it’s not surprising people are greedy and ignorant in a system that rewards it.

though being a big asshole doesn’t make you a good leftist when it’s all about fighting back, contradictions are common and have to be dealt with and ultimately material conditions determine how the fight is gonna be.

again, this can improve once we don’t have the source of that problem anymore.

Yeah I agree but people aren’t going to fight back. Not when you can succeed by being an asshole. Removing capitalism also didn’t necessarily remove the ability to be an asshole either, it just shifted how you could be an asshole.

Humans are kinda shitty animals I have very little hope for us. I’d love to be proven wrong but so far everything I’ve experienced shows that it doesn’t really matter, it seems like humans have selected for the most aggressive and anti social traits and those people tend to rise to the top.

As I said maybe there will be a global revolution, but I highly doubt it, and even if there is one I don’t think it will be the smartest kindest and most compassionate people who end up leading it.

my brother in christ, people are already fighting back, hard. the fact msm doesn’t show it should be telling for anyone paying half attention, most lack of knowledge about most successful action is carefully engineered too.

i’m assuming you are from the western imperial core, and that’s why you don’t see it, but if you are not it’s just a matter of joining them and start seeing for yourself. history shows again and again in a very straightforward and concrete way our lives improve quite a bunch every time we push back against capitalism. removing capitalism removes the systemic incentive for being an asshole.

i’ll say it again because it’s worth drilling into: it’s not about the character of individuals but how the system is collectively set up. mistakes and assholes and all manner of contradictions will always exist, a society where they are the ruling class doesn’t have to.
