Specifically, Trump’s previous administration (quite literally) abandoned them in Syria after they were basically carrying the anti ISIS forces in the area.

The US abandoned the Kurds to be attacked and pushed from their homes (arguably a genocide) by Turkey during Trump’s first presidential term.
