I’m reminded of a scene in Ursula’s book ‘the word for world is forest’ where the violently racist military colonizers refer to the indigenous race living on the planet as animals and one of the newcomers to the planet who was present asks them about how they’ve forced themselves on the women of that race and asks that if they don’t see them as people, then do they believe they had been engaging in bestiality
