In 2022, U.S. production grew by 3.6% to a new all-time high of 94.7 billion cubic feet per day.
When burned, that’s 60,000 tons CO2/day.

Are we energy independent enough for Republicans yet? Or is Biden still knee-capping our national security by producing too little?
If republicans were in the white house, we could have grown by even more percentages!! So many percentages… and the best ones too. People around the world would talk about how many great percentages we would have if we didn’t have Biden.
All I know is that my gas bill is 50% higher than last year, my power bill is about 30% higher, I can’t afford any of this shit, and winter is right around the corner.
America is the land of the free: work harder and pull yourself up if you’re struggling. Your potential is unlimited.

Republicans don’t care about energy independence, they care about money from industry lobbyists and talking points. If they cared about energy independence they’d be all in on wind and solar and moving toward electrification rather than depending on a commodity influenced by a global market
Aren’t we selling this on the open market?
A lot of it’s going to Europe as a replacement for Russian gas.
The main problem is that everybody’s been switching from coal to gas instead of wind/solar/nuclear, as if drinking more water makes it ok to piss in the pool.
Wasn’t natural gas mostly used because coal was literally causing cancer and dog shit air quality everywhere?
Also, natural gas is a pretty efficient source of heating as far as things go… At least until heat pumps got reliable enough to replace it.
Methane is certainly less bad than coal, but it still moves carbon from the ground to the air that we don’t know how to move back.
