I first time I see an ad on my ad-free subscription, I will cancel like I did with Prime Video.
It’s like they want us to become pirates.

Happened to me. I’ve had both. Companies that say they’ll never do ask for that and companies that use a texted code to verify you over the phone or even in a helper chat. (I think Apple might even do it but I haven’t used their help in awhile)
So when I got a call from a number that was spoofing a payment app’s info, i didn’t think much of it when they asked for a code. But as soon as I said it, I knew I fucked up since I didn’t initiate the call. They tried to buy $500 gift cards with it but because I realized it so quickly I was able to get it stopped by the real company and my bank.
I genuinely think I’m pretty good at recognizing scams and have a high “tech IQ” but they got me here.
I always tell people this story so they know it really can happen to anyone, no matter how good you might be. I don’t want anyone to be embarrassed about getting help when it happens to them.
I don’t mind it, but I also don’t hate that people are trying something new! Maybe it fails, but maybe it’s awesome!
I see a lot of negativity in the comments. And yeah, this thing probably isn’t something I’m going to get, but at least they are trying something that isn’t a generic rectangle of glass like all the others. I miss the days of fun gadgets.
But does it roll down like Yakuake did before I updated Fedora and broke it? :( That’s all I want.
I think it depends where you live. In my city, it’s Indeed. LinkedIn only gives me scammy results. But I know ziprecruiter is better in the west coast so I’m sure LinkedIn works for some people too.
Don’t you love scrolling right when the page loads and you click an ad instead?
It’s a feature, not a bug! Haha!
I haven’t set up this yet, but I use AdGuard on my phone and yes, it does leave blank space. Sometimes I don’t realized there was more text to read because it’s empty.
It’s not about the adblocker though. It’s on the quality of the developer. A good developer tells the browser to leave space for ads before it loads them. It makes the page load faster and also prevents the page jumping around as each item loads.
Ironically, a bad developer that doesn’t do that, probably has better website layouts for people who use adblockers. 🙃
I was just talking to someone who wants to replace their fence. Planks are expensive right now so he is as saying he would do it this way haha
It’s the same in Kansas City. I just checked a random house in my city and it’s up almost $100k in 4 years.

UnitedHealth had a massive ransomware attack in Feb and millions of people got their data leaked.
My favorite is when the title says remote or local to you, but then the body of the posting says you would be required to relocate and that it was intentionally posted in multiple cities to reach a wider audience.
If I wanted to work in Minnesota, I would have searched for jobs in Minnesota.
Thank you!!
I use kagi and that hasn’t been happening. Do I need to change a setting?
You’re not alone. I feel this way too. I don’t know what else to do so I’m just going to keep going, but it definitely seems bleak at times.
I love making things and I love figuring out how stuff works so at least it’s not a chore for me.
I got a VPN and got YouTube premium for like $2.50 on an Ukraine server.
I would just try ublock but I watch in my tv a lot too
Nothing has made my computer slower than trying to open Excel. FFS. You need min 32GBs of RAM and a 4060 for that thing.
I saw this on my work computer the other day and I couldn’t figure out what the fuck it was. This explains it. Wtf
