What do you mean? I use a custom domain in proton so that my server sends emails from info@mydomain instead of my proton email. I have about 10 addresses with three different domains in the essentials plan and I can send emails from different containers as different emails
Started with running a minecraft realm then it grew to the point greifers became a problem so we needed plug-ins for protection. So that led to having a managed hosted server then a VPS and then finally self hosting
I think you need like a project that will give you a goal and things to look up to do specific things. What got me into Linux was running a minecraft realm, then we hit limitations on the service so opted for a server instead which lead down the road to a VPS and had me using Linux and commands
Do you know a better one?
I haven’t tried with a drawing tablet but I like excalidraw a lot for planning things out like my homelab layout or bases in games. I installed the excalidraw container on my server just so I have my own instance always available
one backup would be a bit under 3tb, if I could keep a second copy it would be 6tb. I just want some disk failure protection really since these are mostly the drives I pull out from my main server as I upgrade to larger drives

I just went with a sliger case and shoved my old gaming mobo in there and with my router and everything else in a rack it’s nice to keep everything quiet and not that hot. I think rack mount is the way to go, before that I just had a table with things all over
If computer has a removable drive you could just get a second drive and run windows on that if you really need to for some reason
It’s funny because I’m not allowed to use a Linux machine as a main system but all the appliances I build run Linux so I built myself one of those machines to be able to test my other machines because my windows machine is so locked down I can’t do anything with it. So every day I have to ssh into my Linux test bench to test our products it’s annoying
Yeah plus the pricing change where you only get so many updates now kind of bucks but it was bound to happen
I’ve been happy with unraid, super simple to use and the community apps makes it easy to find and install docker containers
On my server I had to bind the GPU to vfio then reboot, this way the host doesn’t use the card and I can then assign it to my vm
You would probably have to change your settings back then reboot to use it with the host then change again and reboot to use it with the vm
Oh got it, I use wire guard as a VPN for services that only I need but for things I share with multiple people I use cloudflare tunnel after learning about it from youtube tutorials
What’s the notice?
You can use cloudflare tunnels which skips having to open ports and can also proxy the connection so people can’t find your home IP address depending on what services you’re setting up
I started really gaming on xbox 360 with elder scrolls but then around 2019 I focused on getting good with mouse and keyboard and switching to pc.
I used to do those aim training games and got pretty good at it but then when I had my baby I tried going back to controller to game on the TV but it was tough.
I ended up getting a lap desk and an azeron keypad with a hand held ball mouse thing to play like rts games.
I think I’d need to sit down and just practice with an aim trainer like I did going to mouse and keyboard to get back to using a controller to play games that require decent aim
