This week I learned that, in Australia, historical electoral rolls have not been kept since 2008.

Before that they were kept as microfische and you can still access those physical records but only in the national capital’s library in Canberra.

So even though it is easy now to archive, they have stopped. Each year the roll would be only about 4GB (18 million voters, 200 characters/bytes per voter). ie would fit on a DVD.

Certain bodies like researchers and (presumably) cops can get the whole thing each year so we can only hope they are keeping archives.

Automation can verify that realdomain.com has much higher traffic/status/web-presence/google-ranking than raeldomain.com

By coincidence it recently bottomed out at exactlyv that same level as just before the Trump election.

Then we had last week’s 26.7% bump for the not quite accurate tariff 90 day suspension.

It dropped a little when Trump said not all tariffs will be suspended (most will stay at 10%) and now has stayed steady ever since.

Beehaw has a manual approval process at least which must weed such spammers from signing up… yet allows them into my inbox despite my reports.

I get spammed on Lemmy each week by “Nicole the Fediverse chic from Poland”. Each time from a different instance.

I hope she isn’t the start of the end.
