I assume you’re talking about the actual hardware of the various RaspberryPi. (Pies? Pis?) Some of the earlier models had problems with heat, which would cause them to fart out on occasion. I’ve got a Pi 4 Model B, and it does just fine (up 509 days, 15:33) humming away next to my router in a closet.

Raspbian wasn’t my bag so I’ve got the PiHole docker container running on my preferred flavor of Linux instead.

X/Y we’re the games that brought me back into Pokémon after skipping a few generations, and the upcoming Legends A-Z takes place in the same region. Seems like a great place to start.

This (along with basically all instances with communick news behind them) is a classic example of scaling up prematurely.

When this community is brimming with so much content that users start to “miss” posts about [thing x] because there are so many posts about [thing y], then you make offshoot communities, not before.

Using the template syntax you can start by copy/pasting the site to be migrated, and then inject sections that render using markdown syntax.

What templating languages do you know already, and are you running 11ty v3? There are some gotchas around images because (I think) the eleventy-image plugin is enabled by default.

I’ve found success running with .webc which is effectively HTML until you need it to be more.

Okay, so, FOSS.

If WordPress doesn’t want WP Engine doing what it’s doing, they need to change their license. It’s not “Free Open Source Software Until Something We Don’t Like Happens.”

Amazon SES is dirt cheap, billed per-send, you just need to bring the Everything Else with something like Mailcoach or Sendy.

This can be made even simpler by installing all the repos you want to mirror as submodules of the parent directory’s git repository. Instead of many git pull or git fetch, you blast a single git submodule update --recursive --remote and go about your day.

Bonus: This has the added benefit of generating a git history for your automated process if you script in a commit message with a timestamp, making your mirrors reversible.
