That’s why you just use a community run distro. Also if the kernel it self gets enshittified then I’m sure there will be a fork someone will make. Heck right now there’s the libre kernel that is just the Linux kernel with no proprietary blobs
What took you so long?!
Seriously tho it’s always good to see people switch over
Do you all think that if the market share gets high enough we’ll see ports of professional software like autocad or adobe?
Who has those?
I’ve been using bash forever maybe I should try zsh
For me zram made my system more responsive but the oomd didn’t really count it as more ram so sometimes things would get killed earlier than I’d want. ZRAM + regular swap fixed this unless an application was getting really greedy. I kinda wanna try all three now
That doesn’t surprise me. Google probably won’t get that done until 2034
I’d love for someone like system 76 or framework to make a RISC V laptop
Not breaking your data, that is a pretty cool feature
This is an exciting time for gnome. If they can actually make it work well for the user it can be great but I doubt that’ll happen at first. We’ll have to wait and see tho. I’m more excited for gnome mobile, even tho I’m not using a Linux phone (yet) I have a tablet with phosh and I’d love to use gnome on it instead especially after I saw the demo videos
That just like windows and Mac if it doesn’t support that platform prepare for headaches. Unlike windows and Mac you can get things that aren’t supposed to run on Linux to run thanks to great tools like wine, proton, and even waydroid. But if you wanna avoid headaches just stick with what’s supported for the most part.
Skill issue
Nah but seriously Nvidia loves to make it difficult and Linux doesn’t make it any easier. It’s like an unstoppable force meets an unmoving object
I’ve been fuckin with btrfs so far haven’t tried zfs yet. Anything cool compared to btrfs?
Understanding Linux and also recognizing there’s a lot of shit I don’t need (that windows was giving me for the sake of VALUE) was a game changer.
This 100%! After using Linux for the past few years I’ve realized a lot of the crap windows has by default is stuffed in there to have something to market.
And 20 more years there will still be people switching
Ducking dumbass
