For 9 disks I would need to print a bigger case, but this one suits me well for now 😉

Daily backup to backblaze b2 and also to local storage with kopia. Its been running for a year I think, no issues at all. I didnt need a real backup yet, just did some restore tests so far
If OP cant use more than one disk at once, how can they benefit from mergerfs?
In my country pi4 8GB ram with PSU 130€ and then you need SD card and/or SSD
Adding my data as well:
My server is diy desktop pc - mbo MSI Z270-A PRO with celeron G3930 and 16GB RAM, 3x SSD on 550W PSU, idles at 23W. After adding another 3.5" HDD consuption went up to 34W. 34W in Ctoatia is around 34€ a year.
Some SFF PCs are at 10-15W. SBCs like rpi should be below 10 W, but dont think you can get anything new for 80€
I went for wireguard VPN instead of exposing services. Its much more safe afaik, but you have to configure each device you want to give access (aka scanning QR code). You also dont need to buy a domain for that. Exposed services would be easier to use, especially if you want to use it on many devices
Im using npm with letsenrypt for local network only, but couldnt find a way to use pihole gui without /admin. So I have bookmarked pihole.domain/admin
Thx for sharing!
This might be completely diferent thing and it could be fixed already. Few months ago there was an update (debian bullseye i think) that messed up usb IDs on rasberries. It was mainsail os for 3D printer in my case and there was a fix that I never got working so I reinstalled OS and didnt update after that. I believe it was something with uuid, but better check yourself and never trust my words lol I hope someone knows more about that because it reminds me on the pain I had
I did try that, didn’t work. But your post made me check again and I figured there is also settings button and I disabled DNS Switch mode and its perfect now. Thank you
Any tips how to try this?

Im trying to install solidworks 2016 and Im getting same error like the one on the next link:
Everything I find seems like possible at first, but then too dificult to understand and possibly outdated
It works just fine for me, but I’ve heared scary storries so now Im using:
https://lemmy.world/c/homeassistant
https://community.home-assistant.io/
Amazing community, lot of guys there prefer local (non-cloud) services
Listen to this guy, he obviously knows better than I do, I was doing that long time ago and dont even remember completely. Was just trying to help while you wait smart guys to answer 🤣
Im not 100% if that changed or not, but if you are using raspberry pi I think you still need sd card to boot from SSD. The way you install it is actually installing OS on both of them and then doing some tricks to boot from USB after initiall boot from SD card. Once you start your OS you can unplug SD card, but still need it for next reboot. Maybe there is a good way how to clone, but deffo not simple as regular cloning.
You can just add SSD as a storage and move docker volumes and catch folder to it (not sure about omv tho), but that wouldnt move your OS.
Many SSDs failed on me, but never SD card in raspberry pi. I do use high quality cards tbf and Im aware SSD is much better for OS, but feels like its all about luck. Just my 2c
Yeah its sad. But dont lose hope, Im sure Im gonna run proper CAD on linux before I die haha
I was on the same boat 15 years ago. Still waiting solidowrks replacement on linux haha. All open source or free CAD is okayish, but they cant replace proper software like solidworks. Inventor, catia, proe, they are all decent, but solidworks became kinda industry standar, so better stick with it since you already have some experience (its easy to switch between them). Compatibility will stop you from using any other if you need to share files (not step or stl) with someone. Even different versions of SW (every few years) are not backward compatible. Solidworks is almost the only reason why I still have windows
Maybe Im just lucky, bought tens of SSDs and never had problems like that. Well many of them failed including samsung evo, so I guess its just important to have backup, warranty and luck
One of the first services on my server was nextcloud in docker container from lsio. Never had problems so there was no need to try AIO, but so many people recommend that, it will be my next setup if this one fails me
