Miyazaki did not promote this movie much. No trailer in Japan. It’s meant to be watched with zero expectations beyond the poster and the name of the film.

No I haven’t. In terms of scheduling, it was the opposite for me. I have a well-defined pace for watching an anime episode versus reading manga chapters. I have a tendency to binge chapters and either run out of material quickly, or make my day unproductive. Usually both lol.
