It seems to vary. I had few issues with my 2080Ti but my friend had nothing but issues with his 3070. He switched to an AMD card and it worked without issue. Nvidia doesn’t put nearly as much emphasis on their Linux support as AMD does, but that doesn’t mean that Nvidia cards aren’t usable.

I switched full time to Linux last year and primarily use my computer for gaming. It’s been great. I play games through steam so YMMV with other systems. I haven’t had any issues playing a variety of games such as Factorio (built for Linux), GTFO, Horizon: Forbidden West, PEAK, Ready or Not, Plate Up… It’s been rare for me to have an issue. I remember an issue trying to play Plate Up via steam remote play.

We have both MySQL and PostgreSQL in our production environment. Postgres is way nicer as a user of the DB. I created a document months ago outlining a dozen different things that Postgres does that MySQL either doesn’t do or does worse. I can’t speak to managing the DB as I don’t have experience with that.

The company I work at is considering moving some/all of the “not business differentiating” work (aka boring or terrible yet still critical work) to teams in India. I have been running Linux full time on my gaming PC for a number of months now. I have found only a few instances where a game hasn’t worked. I know that certain games won’t work because of their invasive or Windows specific DRM, but for me personally I don’t want to play those games anyway.
