I just bought a ROG Ally.
There’s a lot of stupid stuff written/on you tube about it, but it’s great and clearly a notch up on the Steam Deck in most ways.

I don’t think that Sony have any PSVR2 stalls where they demo it, which apparently they did have with PSVR so that’s a bummer. If you can find a hobby shop that specialises in it they’ll probably let you try out a headset - anything is fine if you’re just testing your legs!
Yeah so far so good! Very polished. Gunplay is floaty but eye tracking for telekenisis is good, I am just not very good at hitting anyone with thrown boxes (yet).
I play a few games daily (Synth Riders, Beat Saber, etc) for cardio, otherwise I primarily game on the weekend and more so when there‘a a game that has my attention. I went through a big Pavlov phase, it’s great fun.
I think people may underestimate that VR is very intentional, it’s a lot easier to lay back on the couch and casually game so you need to want to lose yourself in the game for a good while. That’s not always possible or desirable.
I am very fortunate that I’ve never had any form of motion sickness in VR. Also, I came from a Quest 2, so I didn’t have to adjust all when I got PSVR2. I would strongly recommend you try out VR in some form - any form - before you make the investment, as I’ve seen some people disappointed due to discomfort or due to not having experienced VR before.
Great! The hardware is solid, just about everything you could hope for at that price point. HDR is lowkey the standout feature, but trigger haptics and eye tracking and all that stuff is great.
I’m generally pretty happy with the games, I know a lot of people complain about there not being enough but I find the catalogue pretty full. There’s some AAA titles and a good chunk of enhanced versions of existing games.
Yesh, there’s only 2 or 3 songs I think are boppers, so I’m mostly playing for the experience. Synth Riders, Best Saber, and Ragnarock are the gold standard
Happy to see the new content drop for Pistol Whip. Great game, incredible value given how actively they develop and add to the game. The last scene they dropped was a banger, so keen to check out the 3rd.
He’s saying “we don’t need to listen to the community, they’ll get over it”. Again, completely tone deaf.
That article is from Jan 2023 when Sony responded to a Bloomberg report that they had cut production due to lower than expected launch sales.
It’s possible they will rebut this article too, but they haven’t so far AFAIK.
