I’m conversationally “sure”. I’m not asserting this is incontrovertible fact.
Basically, nothing ever goes as well as you think it will go - at least not in war. But let me rephrase to see if it helps: “While I’m sure not everything is going as Iran planned, I suspect they’re doing much better than if you compare how the US thought it would go vs. how it’s actually going for the US.” I hope that helps explain.
But as to what I base this on? The fact that Iran is not talking ceasefire, that they’re still able to attack, and that from the stated goals we’re aware of, they seem to be accomplishing multiple of them.
Contrast that with the general impression one has of the US going in and basically expecting to “shock and awe”. I don’t think Iran is either shocked nor are they awed.
