I’ve been on pop!_os consistently for… 3 and a bit years now? some distro hopping before then
What you should expect to change… well other than the obvious like the UI and such… chances are you’ll need a decent bit of different software than on windows, im assuming you looked into alternatives for the software you use, or if it simply just runs, so im not gonna list a bunch of stuff here :3.
Tech support online is mostly gonna be through terminal commands, which actually makes it way less painless imo since you can just copy-paste stuff instead of navigating though a bunch of interfaces.
Installing apps is different since you’ll often find multiple packages for the same thing, and have to decide between .deb or flatpak etc.
All of that seems like fairly obvious stuff you’d find along the way to the process of looking into switching to linux tbh, but I can’t think of much that’d be a major shock otherwise lol
In terms of gaming, I’ve had no major issues :3… some minor ones that were easy enough to troubleshoot did occur tho. Generally just checking out protonDB to see what people are saying in terms of compatibility is good, but basically 90% of what doesn’t run now are games with kernel level anti-cheats
Well the original reason I went to spotify was kinda cause someone I know was curious what my spotify wrapped would look like :3… and then I kinda just never switched back, cause I couldn’t be bothered adding all the new songs I listened to on spotify to my playlist at the time x3
Real x3
Honestly im considering just switching back to piracy
Hah, I did that too in my first weeks with linux x3… I think I wanted to hit alt + f4, but for some reason I also hit ctrl with it… had a mild heart attack when my screen just went to CLI, but I figured it out :3
Oh definitely :3… nothing wrong with 4 as a stand-alone, just series wise at launch it was a bit lackluster :3… there’s definitely still fun to be had with it ^^
The sims 4 launched at full price, mind you, and later got made free for… some anniversary I believe :3… as a full price game it definitely got a fair bit of slack cause overall it had less content than the previous games, and people didn’t like needing DLC for what they considered base features, but… free is free ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sims 3 is generally agreed to be the best by the people talk to, but my favourite is sims 2… (probably cause nostalgia :3)
Anyhow 4 is free and runs on mac from what I can see, so… just go with that x3… I personally wouldn’t pay for the DLC and just mod it, but I dunno how macs are in terms of mods
Yeah :3… I wonder where people find people like this tho lol
Well I sure know some of those words :3
I just chose the automatic partition thingy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The closest thing I could find that isn’t MacOS was this
Guessing it’s officially not supported, and it just works with whatever open source drivers come with the kernel. I know the packaging only lists windows devices as supported, but so far it’s been fine for me :3
Most TP-link ones work afaik. I have the TP-link UB400 for bluetooth on my PC
My favourite one too :3… but ye the constant enemy checkpoints do me in
Libreoffice present or whatever it’s called (powerpoint equivelent) is absolutely garbage imo, it’s missing a lot of functions to make stuff that doesn’t look straight out of 1990s
The rest of them I found fine… though im definitely not a power user by any means, so mileage may vary
I’ve been playing far cry 2 mostly :3
With a sprinkling of red eclipse matches
I have a 3070 and I’ve experienced 0 issues so far tbf
The graphic card debate used to be a way bigger thing in the past from what I hear
Was about to comment that too
