  • Cons: expensive, special waste management is required.

special waste management is doing a lot of heavy lifting, yeah? Meaning, we are leaving nuclear waste to future generations.

As far as renewables cons, we just stayed at home for 2 years and we adjusted. Not having enough power and more power failures isn’t such a bad trade-off. Start spending your time on getting renewables in every household. Public and private utilities need to adjust to people taking back their power.

  • This is a repost of another comment I made from the other thread, he isn’t exactly a great person.

This isn’t his first rodeo, lol. From Wikipedia, I would go to the sources but they’re all in Spanish. Here’s one on the embezzlement for orgies.

    Corruption allegations

On 18 April 2022, the Spanish digital newspaper El Confidencial published some leaked documents and audio files that they called Supercopa Files,[20] which included conversations that took place in 2019 between Rubiales and the footballer and businessman Gerard Piqué. The audio files find Rubiales negotiating to pay Piqué commissions related to playing the Supercopa de España in Saudi Arabia.[21] One of the conditions for these commissions was that two of the four participating teams would need to be Barcelona (Piqué’s club at the time) and Real Madrid. Rubiales would also benefit from these commissions due to the variable part of his salary in the federation.[22]

In 2022, Luis Rubiales’ uncle and former chief of staff Juan Rubiales denounced Rubiales to the anti-corruption prosecutor’s office for an alleged emblezzlement of RFEF money, reportedly spent in orgies with a group of friends in a house in Salobreña in 2020.[23] He has also been accused of using federation resources for his personal enjoyment, such as a trip to New York in 2018 accompanied by a Mexican painter.[24] According to Juan Rubiales, Luis Rubiales also devised an espionage scheme against AFE president David Aganzo.[23]

In December 2022, Rubiales filed a lawsuit against Wikipedia demanding that content on the Spanish Wikipedia which might be seen as damaging to his honour be removed.[25] The complaint was filed through the legal department of the RFEF. The lawsuit focuses on Wikipedia content about scandals including negotiations for the sale of the Supercopa de España to Saudi Arabia said to involve commissions and personal benefits, and derogatory WhatsApp postings about teams in the Spanish league.[26]

  • I don’t think you’ve read this yet, but you can sign up for many instances at once so if lemmy.world is down, you can go to the other instance immediately by either going to your alternate instance’s home page, or having an app like liftoff where it lets you switch immediately in your profile. Liftoff is open source and free as well. That way, you don’t have to leave Lemmy.world, just have a backup if it’s down. I highly suggest this route, I have 4 backup instances, some with the same name but I like world the best since it seems the most like reddit.

  • No problem, I’m glad you understand now. It sounds like it was a misunderstanding.

    P.s. I didn’t get the agenda part.

Unknown people are trying to shut down Lemmy.world with ddos attacks and this seemed like you were unknowingly agreeing with them. I didn’t want to assume you didn’t understand lemmy and you were trying to shut it down in your wording, so I think we all were scratching our heads too.
