My musical taste is cringe and my spouse has known it since we started dating years ago. Never felt the need to hide it from them. Good partners can respect each other’s preferences, so there’s zero need to hide what you enjoy.
Raon Lee, mostly know for her covers, but her originals are also great. Next one below!
People who downvoted this comment can’t take a joke apparently. As a parent I wouldn’t do this irl, but I laughed.
It doesn’t make it less of a crime against good design. Low contrast for reading is bad practice.
sigh Time to go back to either openSUSE or Debian…
I still don’t see it, guess I’m not a CSS developer after all 😟
Sure thing, ranting is therapeutic and I wouldn’t miss the chance~
Didn’t know about Podman yet, I’ll probably give it a spin on some personal projects to get a bit more used to tools other than docker. Thanks for the great intro!
I joined to learn, still not self-hosting anything, but I intend to use an 11yo Compaq laptop (i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD) as a server while I’m still practicing. I intend to self-host a lemmy instance and a nextcloud server.
Thanks for everything you guys have been sharing I’ve already got some good leads, gonna try out YunoHost for starters
Feels like home, it’s been easy to use, albeit with some hiccups in terms of searching and subscribing to communities on different servers.
A normal terminology also helps when explaining the concept of federating with other platforms, imagine saying: “When you join a pod, you can then send toots that can be seen by people in different magazines, even if they’re on different platforms!”
I mixed the terminology of some 3 or 4 federated platforms to give an egregious example, but it helps drive the point. If we have a standard (the ActivePub) we can very well have a standard nomenclature for each feature.
Why would he need to block when he can ban? 🤷♀️
Yup, he gets a hard-on by exposing people to the “fash n friends” crap.
Holy hell, on a serious country the government would go scorched earth on Twitter’s servers and sue tf outta Musk
For me at least, I found here the same kind of content I used Reddit for, so as long as these stay around I have good reason to do so.
I also like the federation “movement”, (imo) it feels more cozy and enhances the sense of a community.
To be honest it’s a good way of tracking your own thought process.
Best advertisement ever for Lemmy
I listened to it a LOT in my teens. They’re amazing.
Hybrid - bri’ish breakbeat band. Really really good for people who like a darker (as in moody) sounding electronic music.
