It really seems like the future or some variation of it.

True, then I’d be screwed. But, because my system config is declared in a single file (plus a file for channels) i could re-install my system and be back in business relatively quickly. There’s also guix home but I haven’t had a chance to try that.
Me too. Additionally, I use guix so if a system update ever broke my machine I can just rollback to a prior system version (either via the command line or grub menu).
I’ve had a similar experience with Guix.
It’s always discouraging to me that when the topic of alternate voting methods comes up, RCV is always mentioned as the way to go. It seems to be the alternative voting method most people are familiar with.
RCV has it’s problems and there are demonstrably better voting systems such as you said STAR voting.
STAR voting, or ranked robin are possibilities as well. RCV has it’s problems. https://www.equal.vote/star_vs_rcv
If you want ranking Ranked Robin is better than RCV https://www.equal.vote/ranked_robin
More like: Looks Cool
Versus how it is now: Looks cool
or if you have a shit ton of tabs open: lo… co…
Yeah Linux is great at supporting old hardware. I had an old desktop I built in 2009 lying around doing nothing. So I installed guix w/ a non-libre kernel onto it and brought it back to life!

Hell yeah I am. I’ve been using linux since 2019. I bought a dell laptop and installed manjaro.
I recently discovered GNU Guix and decided to install it onto an old desktop (built in 2009) I had laying around. I used a system crafters custom installer and the accompanying video to do a non-libre kernel install. I’ve been liking Guix and I think I’m going to install it onto my laptop and make it my daily driver.
GitHub helped lower the barrier to entry, drawing wider contribution and spreading best practices such as community codes of conduct. But its success has also given a single platform vast influence over communities dedicated to decentralized collaboration.
Yes. That’s pretty scary.
Yeah it is scary. Since code is speech, where it’s stored should be censorship resistant, and github ain’t it.
Linux is great for reserecting old hardware! I had an old gaming pc I built back in 2009 (had to replace graphics card) onto which I installed guix. Now I have a raid 1 store, samba network share, and jellyfin server!
