I’m already using linux, but my laptop is an older dell with a 5th? Gen i5 dual core. Still works fine, but i had to jankily push down on the keyboard ribbon cable with a piece of cardboard, still has sata ssd, screen could be nicer, bezels are an inch wide, etc. This an oportunity to get an uograde if companies are going to dump perfectly good hardware.
I said from the beginning that the tpm 2.0 requirement was a way to make people buy new pc’s. Good news for me who wants a laptop upgrade.
Let’s talk about the growing number of websites that won’t work with a vpn. Even a local government website won’t work.
Lawyer up, delete facebook, hit the gym.
There’s an android app called photo studio pro that can do all that. It’s $55 but you get access to it with play pass, which is $35/yr. You also get moonreader+ and a bunch of games, so it’s a decent value.
The fact that they took the job in the first place is morally dubious don’t you think?
Do cops write laws, no. Crooked politicians write unjust laws. Cops know laws are unjust and enforce them anyway.
You might be able to by connecting it to a pc and using console commands. I was able to do it with a cheap onn tv box.
People like to be on commitees to feel important. The issue becomes what their role should actually be. Unfortunately donors end up on commitees and part of the decision making process. They have their own motivations and incompetencies.
We know that his dad is an engineering professor at university of Nebraska too. Really calls into question his credentials. I checked the other day and they had already removed his contact info from their website.
Maybe it was that i had to install the snap version (or maybe flatpak?) and uninstall theirs, which fixed the crashes. I thought it was a hardware issue for awhile because it was so random.
I swear it was the default already installed. Maybe I’m misremembering.
For awhile I was getting firefox crashes in Mint all the time. Turns out it was the snap version being unstable.
Ok, not vintage yet, but released 18 years ago an discontinued 12 years ago.
Who isn’t keeping multiple vintage pcs? I keep a core2 system with a floppy and disc drives to deal with old media. It even has parralel and serial ports in case I need to deal with old hardware like zip drives. It has internal sata so it can boot from an ssd.
Windows 10 has a bug with 100% disk utilization that goes away if you have an ssd. You should look into upgrading the ram to 4 or 8 gb. ddr3 ram is dirt cheap on ebay. It would probably cost $10-$15 for 8gb and another $10 for a 120gb ssd.
I tried what they were talking about but could’t figure it out. I tried Mint and had the same issue, I reinstalled stock Ubuntu and it’s working again. The strange thing is that on Budgie and Mint it would show my second monitor, which was plugged into the gpu in display settings.
Also, i’m not sure who was downvoting you, but it wasn’t me.
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation DG2 [Arc A310] [8086:56a6] (rev 05)
0f:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Picasso/Raven 2 [Radeon Vega Series / Radeon Vega Mobile Series] [1002:15d8] (rev d8)
It does output the Budgie logo through the gpu for a split second while booting
I always do just so other people can search for it later. There’s sellers of aftermerket chargers that will blur out the specs so you can’t just find a cheaper one.
