Israel killed their head of state, so wouldn’t this be fair game?

Awesome stuff but here I am with my single mini PC that has Jellyfin and Immich wondering why I would need such a big setup.
At some point I realized that the more complex I make it, the more resources it needs and the more maintenance it needs so I only get things I think I really need.

I believe the rich aren’t particular on political philosophy, they just think of it pragmatically.
They want content that makes population easier to control, and surprise surprise that almost always is far right direction.

What about a system that works like torrents under the hood and every time you went to watch something you just download it with an expiry date?
You just need a metadata system like lemmy so people can find the videos, and once they decided to watch it, it downloads it for them via the torrent protocol.
The only disadvantage is that it won’t be streaming but let’s be honest, streaming isn’t a huge advantage for shorter clips + high bandwidth (which you need for streaming anyway).
You can also further optimize it by making each video cut into 5 min chunks so you can always download the first one and start watching sooner.
The only drawback, like others mentioned, is that it works best with a savvy user base instead of just spoon feeding you and giving you little control (which apparently people just love these days).

But but but, it has the word “my” in it

Exactly, I’m glad more people are seeing it this way.
The goal of capital is to gain power and leverage, they don’t really care about some numbers.
It’s the dream of all tech companies to become a monopoly, they even say it with a straight face. They want as much control as possible? Why? So they can use the leverage for even more.
The beautiful/horrifying part is, the system weeds out any company that does not do this. The only way is for the end users to push back.

Oh excellent, thanks for sharing.

Poor gen Z

I just explain how when you watch Netflix, you use their computers, that’s why it costs money. You could just use your own computer at home but it takes some setup.

Holy shit, sounds like this would enable people to have a community in which m every person has a Jellyfin and they each use all of them.
One person could specialize in documentaries and another in shows.
Combined, it would mean a huuuge library.
I wonder how high demand content would work. As in, if a TV show is watched a lot, could it be saved in multiple servers and the swarrm figure out who streams from what to balance demand?
First time I heard the follow up line

I have Immich that has AI searching for my photos. Pretty useful for finding stuff actually

I feel like 20 years ago someone made a similar realization with Linux vs windows
Edit: i remember people telling me how good Linux was in 2010ish (so maybe 20 years was wrong), so idk…

Bro he is threatening Canada, it’s full knives out now.

As the meme implies, stop and think about how to change tactics.
Uhhh no? Especially if your playing a game that your suppose to try multiple times like hades.
I guess it depends on the game but imo the best boss fights are puzzles (god of war style) where you don’t change tactics, you keep playing until you figure out the puzzle.
Idk if I call that changing tactic, I just keep trying until I figure it out.

Wait, how else are you suppose to beat boss fights without just keep trying until you do?

I’m pretty sure he is the reason why it happened now rather than a few months ago.

Reminds me of jimmy carter and the iran hostage crisis.
The timing seems very convenient, no? Especially since this was the Achilles heel of the dems.
Isn’t this proof that AI can only work if we lower standards?
