That wisdom cuts both ways, I was only making conversation and you’re … I’m not sure what, actually. Are you trying to make it a debate while doing no legwork of your own?

Why did you comment this instead of checking
True. Being inconsiderate is not ADHD specific, fine to call it out
Charitably, could be an attention issue. I’ve had to start learning about ADHD as I’m basically the only one in my nuclear family without it, and a common thing is needing to be doing something while listening.
It is mildly infuriating at the best of times to have someone constantly fidget and squirm and not acknowledge you while you talk, but listening doesn’t always look like listening unfortunately.
Though, I haven’t heard of this specific thing while at a concert it’s not beyond imagining that it’s just a tactic to accommodate their own needs.
It’s so. You can search this stuff, “animals who demonstrate sense of humor” etc.
Not really, all it requires is theory of mind, social norms, and the ability to anticipate outcomes. Plenty of animals exhibit comedic behavior patterns, but they all know we’re funnier.
Not impressed? We’re the funniest natural phenomenon in the known universe, that has to count for something.
This does not exclude you; It’s directionless and self abnegating. We’re all a little crappy, so focus on those who choose not to at least try. It’s a much more valuable use of your energies.
So much work to hate 95% of everyone
I have no tech background, and I am just getting into creating a media server. I started with an old secondhand Synology NAS, which developed a power issue within a month and no chance of returning it or getting it covered by warranty.
My current plan is to get another Synology NAS (new with extended warranty this time), along with a spare HDD enclosure so I can have an extra layer of redundancy, finally set up Jellyfin, and then I want to build a Pihole. At that point I won’t need much more self hosting or networking tricks until further notice.
Still have no idea what I’m doing.

It’s nukes, so of course - every time anyone makes a move it’s stressful. That said, China is doubling its stockpile this decade and then calling foul just because the US is aware of it and discussing how it affects their position.
Regarding American willingness to strike first: The only US administration who has talked about using nukes in a casual way is Trump’s. As to accusations of genocidal tendencies, neither nation has a clean record.
“The U.S. is peddling the China nuclear threat narrative, finding excuses to seek strategic advantage,” a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said.
Later, same article
The U.S. has consistently pointed to China’s expansive and growing nuclear weaponry. An annual report by the Pentagon last October said China had more than 500 operational nuclear warheads in its arsenal, and will probably have over 1,000 warheads by 2030.
What is China’s serious concern, exactly? That the US is consistent about its appraisal, or that they’re reacting cogently to it?
On the contrary, I think the games industry is struggling with it. Larger developers keep increasing their budgets, and the need for return on investment is making them too risk averse to create anything worth much of a damn. Meanwhile low or no-budget (kick-started) indie titles are making several times their investment while doing really commendable creative work. The profit incentive is self-destructive in art.
That’s… Better than what you said before, but it pains me that people think that’s the full depth of artistic endeavor, to have given people fodder for small talk.
Art is a kind of conversation, but it’s not small talk. If you’ve been following that conversation and you bring a new perspective to it that changes how everyone thinks and shapes the conversation from that point onwards, that is what you might call “artistic success”.
On the other hand if all you’re doing is trying to make money…
Nobody knows. People have been making art for several thousands of years and nobody has ever known whether it was any good unless it made a lot of money! Thank goodness we’ve cleared that up, now I’m going to go try and will myself to have an aneurysm
You mean commercially, or artistically?
The nightmares are increasingly thinkable
It’s over. It was honestly over long ago, it’s just playing out in slow motion.
It will probably continue to play out for another thirty years at least. Increasingly horrible, so at any point “eight years ago” feels like back when things were sane, except we lost our minds decades ago already.
Sorry we’re the nation equivalent of DJ Khaled; we think we’re “suffering from success” but in truth we actually are and we don’t know it.
For once I’m #1 in something 🥳
