Oh I don’t discount insurgency being a thing, that I think is very likely. I’m just saying that the balkanization process, I don’t see happening for a long time. Balkanization I think sorta implies strong state governors trying to secede. That takes time. That takes drumming up the state nationalisms of Californians, Minnesotans, etc. That takes a radical social movement and drift away from the American identity and culture, and developing one’s own within ones state. Insurgency, probable, balkanization, not yet.

With how everything is currently structured, I don’t think it’s too likely. The people of the individual states that would balkanize, still too strongly believe in a united American nation. The federal government would also have to significantly weaken itself and it’s own powers, and it currently seems to be further centralizing and strengthening itself without regard to and in opposition to it’s people’s political rights and powers.

Hmmm, it might not be, but it’s still within the interests of the chinese state. Let’s say the CCP actually wanted Africa to succeed. They may see the ascendance of Africa into something close to first world conditions as beneficial to them, as now they would have this history of benevolence and investments with a market away from the US, thus slowly chipping away at their reliance to the west.

I think most of the hostility is in regards to shilling of certain sites and services. Local self hosted AI is not likely to get as much flack I feel. Another aspect of hate is people generating images and calling it art, which…it is but, it’s the microwave equivalent of art. Such negative sentiments can be remedied by actually doing artistic shit with whatever image they generate, like idk, put the image into Photoshop and maybe editing the image in a way that actually improves it, or using said image as a canvas to be added onto or some other shit.

Edit Addendum: also the negative perception of AI has mostly been engendered by some of its more unpleasant supporters, who think of it as a way to make “irrelevant” certain groups they don’t like, and to take some sorta sick schadenfreude in the “replacement” of these people, which they think may be a way of reducing the power of these people (politically, socially, etc), and that’s kinda fucked up.

Ehh it’s okay for making certain templates like for characters, especially if I’m too lazy to type it all out. Sometimes I use it to give me a word that I can’t quite remember, but I can describe it’s use or something. Sometimes I get it to “talk” like how a specific character may “talk” so that I can get an idea of how a character might “sound” like if I’m writing a story. Otherwise it’s use for me is pretty sporadic.
