I can think of no higher honour in this day and age.

Fixed rates are safer, for sure.

But during the pandemic, when rates went to near zero, I was very glad to be on a variable.

Mortgages can change repayments amounts as the central lending rate changes.

We’re in a squeeze in Canada right now because rates went up and a bunch of mortgages are up for renewal. (5-year fixed rate is standard here)

On top of all this, what really irritates me about epic is they talk like they give a fuck about consumers, but never act like it.

How is this a parody? It’s not poking fun at the original or pointing out its flaws.

Isn’t he legally obligated to act in the shareholders best interest?

It’s actually a good ad, though I question the setting for a young woman. She is so immersed by the display, the room she is in has faded away and become whatever game she is playing. That’s why there is no computer desk.

I’m not taking a shot at you, but the soft language being used across the industry.

“Oh, we’ve been hit by layoffs!? How could this unexpected event have occurred?”

What’s this “hit with layoffs “ phrasing about? CI have chosen to lay off workers.

And I for one welcome our Lupine overlords. I’d like to remind them of my long history of caring for their canine cousins and the potential for that to continue long into the future.
