When the $1 coins were released, most stuff in vending machines were still within the cost of a dollar. Thought I’m not disagreeing with your comment. Coins, for the most part, are relegated to coin jars and aren’t really “spent” in the same way that bills are.
The problem is that coins generally are just so inconvenient. I only hold onto them for the rare occasion where I need to feed a meter.
It’s one of the jobs of a bank though. They are supposed to exchange damaged bills and then exchange them with the mint, who then destroys them.
Honestly we need to get rid of the $1 bill generally but that’s a completely different post all together.
If you set up using compose and don’t have the version pinned:
dockee compose down && docker compose pull jellyfin && docker compose up -d
Thank you but I don’t run a Mac. I used to back in the day. I just know how anal Apple is about people using their devices in any way that they don’t specifically want you to.
I sort of get it. When you self host mastodon or lemmy, you have to deal with the moderation that comes with it. That’s a headache unless you have a ton of free time. Judging by the age distribution, I’m guessing most of us just want things to work so we can do what we enjoy.
My primary phone belongs to my work. I get a stipend every two years that essentially allows me to buy any supported phone I want.
The conditions are that it’s managed by them via MDM and all my work stuff is on the work profile side.
It is a choice I make since it allows me to not carry two phones. I did that for the first two years at my company and it was annoying.
I was today years old when I learned that you can run a custom WM on a Mac.
That’s like…the equivalent of a coca cola soda machine dispensing Pepsi.
And in terms of down votes, I don’t really care too much. It evens out overtime.
As much as I want to use F-Droid, my work blocks all third party app stores so it’s either have access to my work stuff on one phone (via profiles) or dual wield two phones.
I lack the patience to dual wield again. It’s very annoying.
Consent doesn’t matter to rich people. It’s not exclusive to Musk.
On the one hand, the UN making a resolution that they won’t trust the results of the US elections would play right into the hands of what some MAGAs are saying.
But MAGAs then agreeing to any UN resolution, especially one that requires third party oversight…
I’d say the odds are even on this.
They probably wanted a completely virgin chain, one they had complete control over (socially anyway) so that they could see how it’s used and most importantly where the users come from.
This isn’t random but does poison the well by clicking on every link the ad blocker sees.
I don’t use it myself but I’ve heard great things.
Ultra technically, you’re agreeing to the literal URL. So essentially no terms.
I’m not a lawyer but given that a large company with adequate resources is doing this, I would interpret it as the terms.
While you’re not wrong, it’s not the right attitude.
I donate to Mozilla every year. It’s not chump change either. It’s the largest donation I make to an open source project. They are listed as beneficiaries in my will. When I make my donation this year, I’m going to tell them that they risk my next donation going elsewhere if they keep the path they are on.
The web is quickly becoming enshittified and we, users, have some say in this.
The Linux kernel is self supported without ads and many distros are able to make releases without ads. A browser that is our direct connection to each other and the world should be no different.
Librewolf is probably the best candidate but they rely on Firefox to continue developing. Maybe it’s time to focus on Librewolf and try to get it working with Firefox.
Taxiing!
With a landing/take off, there’s a likelihood (maybe small) that the plane could be traveling fast enough to avoid the bulk of the blast.
Taxiing, there’s no way.
If I’m going through the trouble of self hosting one, it better be open source.
I mean…
Their convoluted salary and options package was one of the driving reasons why I declined a job there.
I agree with this. Self-hosting requires the user to understand their network, their software, how it all interacts.
If you provide a hardware product and call it a solution, people are going to expect a turn-key solution like a plug-and-play router.
You’re going to end up supporting a bunch of newbies who, by no fault of their own, can’t tell you an error code in the console let alone whatever UI you give them.
I think a better solution would be a course that walks newbies through self hosting.
My guess is that it’s the easiest and cheapest way to set up “MFA”.
The number of banks that don’t have proper MFA really bugs me.
