Nothin, just install your favourite distro and don’t run random command/scripts/binaries you found on the internet
For me yes, I have a laptop with Nvidia GPU and AMD CPU with hybrid graphics and both can change depending on what I’m doing (on Wayland BTW)
I use Arch because I don’t know how to use Debian based distros, I got lost when trying to use Linux Mint or PopOS.
You might also consider enable zram (aka download more ram that actually work) if you do a lot of compiling from the aur, my 16gb laptop crash when trying to compile Cosmic DE.
I just bought a laptop yesterday (NVD GPU+AMD APU), and graphics hybrid work just fine for me, maybe AMD is that good that it make NVD GPU work on Linux.

it’s pretty playable considering it’s on ultra 1080p, far better than what I used to play.
It actually in a good spot for window management key, I bind mine to move window around on KDE
