Most of desktop users don’t care at all about these gains. Slap in normal ram and an SSD and a 1000 series Ryzen is ready to be a run of the mill desktop, that browses and can show media no problem.
I care! But I’m a power user. Most aren’t.

dozens of dozens!
My Brothers / Sisters from other misters, I have been successfully avoiding ads for around 2/3 years and wow, no regrets. Talk about a war worth fighting, life is better without. This new in-navigation ad felt specifically made for folk like us, who are almost unreachable for marketing. I did some FOSS car navigation today. Bye Gmaps :)
I have been using OsmAnd today to get ready to leave Gmaps because of this news. It was better then I remembered and my number 1 peeve was no lane preference display (for highway driving specifically), but that works now too!
I’ll miss traffic predictions and live traffic rerouting :-( Sigh, guess I’ll pay that price. I #&@$ing hate distractions during driving, and now they think I’ll allow my own phone to do that? Google is rotten to the core and the road way from them is annoying and boring. Buckle up y’all. Bring magazines.
I learned to dab a small drop right on the underside of your wrist, then dab those wrists on the back of your neck or behind your ear. I never ever used my palms for that, that seems crazy to me. But I’m also pretty sensitive to smells so…
I agree with the mission of this new cap, but my thoughts were this: Coca Cola, PepsiCo, these brands are… so inhumanly big, their budgets are SO extremely deep and large. And this cap? This cap is the best they could come up with? There is not a grain of my being that can believe that. What I do know about these corporations, is that they hate working together to reduce waste. Anytime a bottle deposit system is expanded they basically stamp the floor angrily until the law forces them to adapt or get out, at which point they use the new hated rules in their marketing as if the planet was all they were thinking about all along. Right…
This cap is essentially psychological warfare against the consumer, to form negative thoughts about being responsible with plastic waste. It’s purpose is to make you angry about the new rule, while still adhering to it.
Fuck you big food products inc, I hope we introduce a deposit system on fucking everything so you can all sit in the boardroom and cry about it.
These cables only supply power straight from the net, which is why they are interchangeable. I have some trimmers/shavers that use a similar cable as the one OP is showing, but they are much smaller then what you are showing. The trimmers have an adapter somewhere in between (because incorporating it into a handheld device would be bulky and… why would you want to?) So, because the power is ‘adapted’ it’s no longer interchangeable.
This new push might be from a new source of users that don’t fit the pattern of the 3 percenters.
Whooops! You accidentally thought that companies have to follow the same rules as civies, silly you!
I mean, steam made it work with games, you telling me that 6-7 of these giant media companies can’t get it to work for video? The giving up part is that you have to embrace piracy (again?) to get to acceptable levels of service per dollar
I checked their reported expenses and couldn’t really find anything they “blow” money on. Their revenue is smaller than a midsize EU football team, and considering the value comparison between the two, that makes me think either we disagree completely, you have extra info that you did not share, or I don’t understand you.
YouTube itself is bound to implode because of the cost of all that infrastructure… sheesh. I recently reduced my YT time to the bare minimum, after being screwed out of premium (light), and found out about Peertube. It’s pretty bare bones, but viral videos can use P2P to offload the main server, which I thought was smart and fair. So, federated YouTube can be done I think. It won’t be easy though, or cheap.
I have to charge the battery EVERY TIME! There is a wheel on the top I have to spin else it won’t do ANYTHING.
Infuriating
