  • I think I understand your requirements more clearly now, a framework for FOSS collaborative work would be really great. I Hope you can find a way to use Matrix for it. Thanks for the explanation.

Man, I loved the google docs realtime collab functionality, they pretty much nailed it day 1 in my eyes. It’s so easy. If your project works/takes off it should be a lot more straightforward for FOSS projects to incorporate it. Hype!

  • Hey Hey! What a fantastic idea, I sure hope you can manage!

I was immediately wondering why you wouldn’t hop on projects already out there. For example: I recently ditched google Keep // Trello for Joplin, which i think already ticks alot of your boxes, even Async collab should work (but not realtime, and you’d have to manually resolve conflicts). Maybe adding better collab in Joplin is a more efficient way to spend your time? LibreOffice also has Async collab, since I think about 6 months, so while it might be young, it will grow, and might also benefit from another person putting their time towards it.

Whatever you choose to do, I’ll be super interested to see the results.

  • Well, reading this and the rest of this thread, I can’t think of anything else. Since you ruled out pretty much everything else, I would now put my money on one of the parts shorted during cleaning… anecdotally I’ve heard parts dying by shorting them with your fingers, but it never happened to me, so that would be pretty unlucky.

Last time I did a cleaning of a particularly dusty system, a dustbunny flew in the PCI-e port without us noticing (it was dark and circumstances were not ideal). With the GPU Re-inserted, that was enough for the system to behave similarly to yours, but you re-seated everything so… That would eliminate this as a possibility.

You could share a photo of the current situation, a top down of the mobo? Eliminate chances you are missing something by secondary means(as opposed to just text)?

  • I have been using OsmAnd today to get ready to leave Gmaps because of this news. It was better then I remembered and my number 1 peeve was no lane preference display (for highway driving specifically), but that works now too!

I’ll miss traffic predictions and live traffic rerouting :-( Sigh, guess I’ll pay that price. I #&@$ing hate distractions during driving, and now they think I’ll allow my own phone to do that? Google is rotten to the core and the road way from them is annoying and boring. Buckle up y’all. Bring magazines.

  • I agree with the mission of this new cap, but my thoughts were this: Coca Cola, PepsiCo, these brands are… so inhumanly big, their budgets are SO extremely deep and large. And this cap? This cap is the best they could come up with? There is not a grain of my being that can believe that. What I do know about these corporations, is that they hate working together to reduce waste. Anytime a bottle deposit system is expanded they basically stamp the floor angrily until the law forces them to adapt or get out, at which point they use the new hated rules in their marketing as if the planet was all they were thinking about all along. Right…

This cap is essentially psychological warfare against the consumer, to form negative thoughts about being responsible with plastic waste. It’s purpose is to make you angry about the new rule, while still adhering to it.

Fuck you big food products inc, I hope we introduce a deposit system on fucking everything so you can all sit in the boardroom and cry about it.

  • These cables only supply power straight from the net, which is why they are interchangeable. I have some trimmers/shavers that use a similar cable as the one OP is showing, but they are much smaller then what you are showing. The trimmers have an adapter somewhere in between (because incorporating it into a handheld device would be bulky and… why would you want to?) So, because the power is ‘adapted’ it’s no longer interchangeable.
