“Important to be” is the wrong language, but it’s absolutely fine if someone doesn’t find someone else attractive because of their height, color, or anything else. Attraction is subjective.
Yet another refugee who washed up on the shore after the great Reddit disaster of 2023

Attraction is subjective. There are norms, but everyone has their own preferences. Never listen to anyone who claims to speak for any giant group of people (gender, race, culture, whatever). Most women aren’t going to tell you that, but there are assholes in every group. If they’re speaking for themselves, that’s fine though: no one is obligated to disregard any of your attributes.
When I went bald, there were women who said bald guys aren’t attractive. But then there were some who said they were especially attractive, and most just didn’t care.
Yep, I looked them up just to see but, like you said, the fact that it exists doesn’t mean anything. I didn’t find anything (good or bad) associated with that phone number - could be spoofed.
Really? I wonder why. Though I’ve always assumed the one on my phone was from Verizon, not the app or the OS.
For sure don’t in any way respond, just report spam and block the number. Lots of these things are phishing attempts, trying to get you to give personal information (or even money), and aren’t connected to the things they mention.
I’m embarrassed about our country’s politics, honestly.

I honestly understand all that, and believe it’s vitally important that he’s defeated. But assassinating political rivals is literally a characteristic of fascism.
First of all, that’s bullshit. As I said in another thread:
The electorate is viscerally polarized, and very few people are on the fence about who to vote for - maybe some undecided about whether they’ll vote at all. I can’t imagine there are many people who are going to switch from Biden to Trump because of this, or who will even go from undecided to Trump. It makes no sense.
Second, my political activism stops short of murder. Apparently that doesn’t go far enough for you. That doesn’t make me a troll.
Trolling?
How you could hate him? I understand. I have a nonbinary kid, and I’m against what he stands for. But advocating for political assassination is just wrong. We don’t punish people for crimes they haven’t yet committed, and we don’t support vigilantism.
We need to vote out fascist Republicans, not kill them.
One dead in addition to the shooter, multiple wounded
I can’t take anything more interesting
Did you actually read the article? There are dead and wounded, people being airlifted, blood in the bleachers, etc. You honestly think it’s all staged?
I’m a flaming liberal, but I’m honestly revolted that, as I write this, your comment has a bunch of upvotes and no downvotes.
Exactly right. They might consider it initially, but then they’d realize that they got an increase in support from the MAGA base and they’d lean into it.
That all makes perfect sense, and I think you’re spot on.
There’s another factor I’ve noticed, too. Like I said, I’m a manager. Honestly, when I’m home, I get more done because there’s fewer interruptions. But many of those interruptions are employees popping in to talk to me. Sometimes they just want to say hi or whatever, but not infrequently it starts with “Hey, there’s something I wanted to talk with you about…” and they tell me about some issue or something going on. They could email/message/call me about those things, but often they just don’t.
So I think my job as a manager is more effective when we can talk face to face. I go into the office three days a week.
I have mixed emotions about it. I manage a software engineering team at an aerospace company. I do see some increased quality and productivity when folks who work together and colocated. But there are tradeoffs, and happier employees for sure needs to be in the trade. Our company has sites in different states, and for years and years we’ve grabbed the skills we need from wherever they are. That is, we’ve recognized that it’s workable to have at least some people not colocated, and are willing to take that hit if it buys us something.
We were nearly 100% remote for the better part of two years, and it was fine. Our productivity was at least adequate. My personal feeling is that a hybrid arrangement, where everyone has some overlapping days, is the sweet spot. But I’ve fought for individuals being fully remote when it made sense.
The article says the “or else” was that they’d become ineligible for promotion, and half decided to do it anyway. So they didn’t lose their job.
I had an assembly class in college. I didn’t love of at all. Got my first job after graduating and it was writing space shuttle engine control software, which was in assembly. I was kind of surprised at how fast it became natural after dealing with it full time. Still, it felt luxurious when we upgraded the controller and could do the software in C.
