They didn’t quite “announce” it as much as they used it as argument or evidence in court and the document was leaked or released to the public.

How they knew beforehand? I have no idea. But it’d be a risky move to just make shit up like that in court, so it’s pretty likely true.

Everything what Microsoft thinks and does is under fire due to Activision merger injunction lawsuit by FTC.

Yes, I understand that, but how does the Microsoft/Activision merger have anything to do with Sony?

Part of being sued in court is a process called “discovery” where a whole host of internal documents are disclosed to the opposing side.

It wouldn’t surprise me, as part of the merger lawsuit, that a bunch of internal plans were revealed to both sides.

TL;DR - Microsoft is fighting for their purchase of Activision-Blizzard to go through. Their latest argument is that they’re in third in the console wars (behind the PS5 and the Switch) and Sony will likely make more money from the PS5 Slim which they claim is releasing later this year at $399.

Well the main reason to block the purchase would be to prevent a monopoly so their point is that they’re far behind so the purchase will put them more on par. I don’t know if I buy that logic but that’s what they’re trying to say.

I’ve enjoyed the PS5, but it really is ridiculously big. I’m imagining the “slim” will still be as big as a normal PS4

Yeah, but I just hope that it comes with a new (and improved) form-factor. Right now, with the size of the regular PS5 and it being shaped absolutely weird, I couldn’t put it anywhere. Whereas with the PS4 you could build a tower with them albeit it would lean backwards at some point lol.

Is this even posible? I mean most of the bulk on the PS5 is ce CPU cooler, has the technology evolved enough in this past 3 years for an smaller cooler to work?

On the PS5? There are tons, including first party content like Horizon: Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarock. Most major titles that have released in the last 3 years are available on the PS5
