Some Western analysts expressed a cautious wait-and-see attitude toward the sudden reversal by the head of the Wagner private military group. “I don’t believe it until I see it,” said Dara Massicot, a senior policy researcher at the RAND Corporation.
Exactly, what if his chat with Lukashenko was to agree something else
aaww somebody’s coping, adorable
Is Putin coping? One minute it’s an armed mutiny, next they won’t be charged as criminals
Uh oh.
What we’ve learned from this whole affair is that Russian army isn’t demoralized and there is no potential for mutiny. The gamble was clearly based on the idea that a significant portion of the army would flip, and that simply didn’t happen. Practically all of the political and military establishment showed unity against the coup. This likely allowed Russia to clean house well which means that this sort of fiasco is even less likely to succeed going forward.
Hope you’re well stocked up on copium, gonna need a lot of it going forward.
A significant portion of the army stood by and did nothing. That’s not quite flipping, but it’s close
What are you smoking? Do you think this has made Putin look stronger or weaker?
Anybody with a couple of brain cells to bang together understands that this allowed Putin to further consolidate power and purge any dissidents. So, yes, Putin is obviously in a stronger position now than he was previously.
By losing his only actually effective branch of military???
LOL
First, it’s pretty hilarious that you think wagner is the only effective branch of Russian military. Second, you’re even wrong there because what’s actually happening is that wagner is now integrated directly into the military. You really make a sport out of being confidently wrong. LOL
