We won’t bomb a parade full of civilians celebrating the defeat of fascism and you should thank us for it

Nah, I think this is just showing middle finger to Putin. Reflecting a desire to show who really decides if there is to be a parade in Moscow.

I mean a strike would probably be very unlikely anyway. The reason it’s been said out loud is far more interesting.

Consensus among international human rights organizations seems to be that Ukrainian strikes on Russia have been limited in scope and while they have certainly caused civilian harm, Ukraine isn’t known to directly target Russian citizens. Russia on the other hand is systematically and directly targetting Ukrainian citizens and strikes on Ukraine have caused significantly higher civilian casualties.

Also worth noting is that it is a military parade, albeit with civilians following it. Masking it as “a parade full of civilians celebrating the defeat of fascism” is dishonest. In reality it’s a pompous display of killing tools. I guess it needed to be said that this particular military parade will not be attacked.

    Hey! Hey, Putin!

    Hey, Putin and Trump!

    Hey, Putin, Trump and Netanyahu!

Look! The leader of a country whose word you can actually trust about ceasefires!

    That’s called honour!

Yes, you’ll have to Google it.

Having said that, I’ll be surprised if there isn’t a false flag.

This is kinda smart. Likely nothing was going to happen during the parade anyways. Russia would direct enough air defenses around Moscow to take down any drones Ukraine might send. This would mean that other targets would be slightly less defended than usual. Making this statement so late means the air defenses are already in Moscow and the clear skies is perceived as a gesture of goodwill by Ukraine.

So I’m not a polymarket kinda entity but the easy bet is Zelenskyy reneges on this last minute and launches a drone attack.

Everyone in that conflict constantly uses ceasefires and situations like this to gear up for ‘surprise’ attacks.
