Assaults on military recruiters almost tripled to 341 last year compared with 2024, and more than 100 have been recorded so far this year, the Interfax-Ukraine news service reported earlier this month, citing police data. Some attacks involved knives, leading to serious injuries and at least one fatality, according to public reports.

Ukraine must rely on conscription and appeals to patriotism to bolster its forces of about 900,000 against Russia’s full-scale invasion. Under martial law, all men aged between 25 and 60 are eligible for military service in Ukraine if they receive a draft notice, unless they have an exemption. But official data show that about 2 million are being sought by police due to violations of conscription rules.

Someone gonna learn the hard way that he doesn’t have any card. Even if the war end tomorrow the labor shortage is incredible. They fought well, sad they cant accept that they will never get back to the pre war situation.

I couldn’t imagine dying for Ukraine or Russia. Both are incredibly corrupt and are just using their citizens as meatbags to further the wealth of their rulers.

I may not be willing to die for just about any country, but… I might be willing to die to avoid everyone I know forcefully becoming Russian. Just because things may be bad in Ukraine doesn’t mean they couldn’t be markedly worse under Russia. For example, only one of the two is conscripting people to make an utterly unprovoked attack on a nation they had already promised to respect the sovereignty of.

And before anyone tries to “bUt NaTo ExPaNsIoN”, feel free to miss me with that shit. Russia is trying to claim they’re a world power, they have the agency to make their own decisions, and they CHOSE to violate their agreements, just like they CHOSE to antagonize all their neighbors into joining a defensive alliance against them. The two newest NATO members are there as a direct response to this war of aggression because they don’t want to be the target of the next unfounded war of aggression.

Pretty unavoidable, but at least they can leverage a strong patriotic sentiment. Putlerstan has the same thing happening even after cheating North Koreans and Africans into marching to death.
