It’s the only browser I have installed besides Safari, and my default browser but instead of just opening the link with my default browser, it advertises these other browsers to me and makes me click ‘Default browser app’ by default. wtf I’ll be turning that off, should have never been a feature.

…OK? This is a pretty standard prompt in most OS. Not sure why this is such a huge deal.

It’s a stupid prompt. It should use the default browser, always. That’s why the user set it as the default. The most egregious issue with these is that they prompt the user to open links in browsers they don’t even have installed, which would then take the user to the App Store, which is a horrible user experience when all someone is trying to do is open a link.

This type of UI is something only an app with a vested interest in a browser would do, and they only add other stuff in there to avoid some kind of anti-trust allocations by giving the illusion that the prompt was placed there to give the user choice.

I’ve also found that toggle to remember the setting doesn’t actually work. It keeps showing the prompt over and over again.
