And the drop is basically attributed to Covid. Also, China’s numbers since 2020 aren’t out yet.
The biggest driver in the drop in US life expectancy is covid, accounting for 50% of the decline, according to the CDC.
So…. Lack of healthcare is the number one reason?
According to the chart, it’s the lack of available data.
Also, from all of the censuses outside of one country, China has not yet caught up to American life expectancy.
Maybe it’s just a coincidence.
I should point out that from literally any other source, China has not yet caught up to American life expectancy:
So they now have a higher life expectancy than a country with an obesity problem, poorly regulated food market and almost completely privatized healthcare? Um, congrats.
