I have astigmatism and the only time this gets problematic is when I don’t adjust the brightness accordingly for dark mode.

Yea I see more and more of them. And it’s always the same kind of dickhead. Driving alone with no load, parking in the handycapped spot and taking the right of way.
My dad is a complete tech noob. I took his laptop, installed Ubuntu, configured everything and showed him where he could find the applications he uses. Done.

You know what gets ppl to use Linux? 100% Software compatibility out of the box and OEM who preinstall Linux distros.
Barely anyone outside the bubble oft techies and enthusiasts cares. You have to BRING it to the users. For most oft them comfort is king after all.
Honestly, when it comes to your specified amount of Cores & RAM you’ll have tough luck. Got myself a MiniPC with 5700U and 32GB of RAM, two 1TB SSDs (mirrored) and 3 NIC but that was still 500€ after waiting for a decent deal.
Even buying a used PC off eBay will most likely cost far more if you insist on your specs.

Thanks! :)

Wait seriously? Do you have a link or name to search for?

Imagine someone suggested this for cars
If that helps I just got a Aoostar WTR Pro (Ryzen version) to replace my NAS. But I had 2x 16GB RAM left so that was pretty cheap for a rather powerful home NAS. With 8c/16T abf two 2.5Gb NIC it’s powerful enough to replace a small hypervisor.
BUT careful, while it has quickswap slots the hardware itself doesn’t support it.
