Honestly, I think if companies were forced to deal with the electronic waste they create, they wouldn’t be so chill about bricking devices like this. I really wish there was a law that dictated any electronics you output, you are required to take back. Then maybe we wouldn’t have as many situations like this today.

There are a strange amount of people who seem to hate the idea of asexuality and this unfortunately includes people from all swaths of life like the LGBTQ+ community. I’ve seen too many gay people say hurtful, and frankly hypocritical, things along the lines of asexuality not existing and being more akin to a disease. It seems that while more people have become aware and accepting of homosexuality, they still don’t understand asexuality and it scares them. Sad really. But luckily there are still lots of kind souls out there that will be accepting of anyone who’s accepting in return. Maybe they can show everyone else the way…

I genuinely don’t know how chipotle has survived this long when excellent family run Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen all over the country and are super cheap to boot. I’ve tried it a few times and just never understood what people liked about it that you can’t get at your local Mexican joint.

I really enjoyed this video, but one thing bugs me a bit. Why does he specifically call attention to Tesla as a brand and not Luminar? If he’s trying to be scientific about the technology, it should be “lidar vs imaging”. Or if he does want to call out brands, “Luminar vs Tesla”. Not that I’m defending Tesla, but this just seems weird to me when his videos are typically more educational.

I’ve actually seen 2 recent practices that I hate more than this. While this is frustrating, at least you can input a custom tip. I’ve also seen them where they show 3 different dollar amounts that don’t indicate percentage but doing the math, it’s definitely way over the usual 20%. Then there’s the one I hate the most which I keep seeing at places where you don’t usually tip. You go to pay with your card and the little transaction/card machine shows different tip amounts, the default of which is already set. If you don’t want to leave a tip, you have to figure out which button to push to do so. They’re all different and it can be very confusing. I even saw one where each option was labeled in correlation with a button on the screen, except that they didn’t match up. And what do you do then? Ask the person at the register how not to tip them?

I’ve experienced this to a similar degree. Most of my family are small town people and I grew up without money in a small town. I moved to Chicago where I’ve been relatively successful and want to share some of the experiences I’ve had with the people I love. But I think the best test of whether or not I can actually include someone in certain activities is how they show up to a funeral. The reason that this is a good test is because you can tell who put in even a smidgen of effort to try to look nice and be respectful and who didn’t. And having grown up without a lot of money, I can tell you right now that it doesn’t cost much to go to the thrift store to get something that looks even a little bit nice even if it’s not standard. The last funeral I went to, you could immediately tell which family members didn’t try at all and just showed up in sweat pants and tshirts. Those are the people I wouldn’t take to certain places. Id maybe take them to touristy places, but that’s about it.

I ordered one from Aid access and one from safe choice. Both asked a few questions that didn’t ask for personal information or ID. They mostly just need an email, address to send it, and a credit/debit card to pay.

Edit: just to clarify I’m not talking about plan B. I’m talking about medication meant to induce an abortion at up to 13 weeks of gestation. mifepristone and misoprostol specifically.

I didn’t interpret this as it’s bad to make people come to the office that physically need to be there or that it’s judging them for not taking PTO. I interpreted this as a cringe showboat where they try to show how cool it is to be in the office and everyone should love being in the office. The commentnand response at the bottom about the open floorplan say it all.

I don’t know if these things are sent en masse by a bot or by a person, but it’s like they don’t even skim your profile before hitting send. Like I specifically said “Work from home only”, what makes you think I want your “hybrid” opportunity in bumfuck Illinois that barely pays what it should for my experience?

I have to give my email in order to get a mail-in ballot. And of course, they put that email on all the political lists so they can bombard you. I typically just keep blocking them and they have reduced over time. Still frustrated tho…

It’s framed very inaccurately in the news as well. You’ll see articles about how ford reports people aren’t buying their electric lineup. Meanwhile the dealership is marking them up so high that they are now priced too high for the target market. But the articles never mention that part

This is precisely why I don’t actively seek promotions. Not only are there very few paths for someone to move up with my skill set, but if I do, I won’t be doing what I enjoy doing anymore. I just want to find the medium where I can make enough to live off of and also just do my work most of the time.

Bold claim when you remember all of the horrific UI that car manufacturers utilized before everyone started using Apple and Google’s UI. Sometimes I have to borrow an old car from someone and you just can’t find anything. Really, I’m more in favor of bringing back physical buttons for all basic functions, but a good UI will not only make it quick and easy to say change to the next song or view trip details, but it will also prevent you from performing more complicated tasks while in motion. We’ll see what GM’s solution is, but I have little faith.

I don’t understand people that tie up their dogs like this. They’re just asking for the dog to be taken. And I don’t know about you, but I assume people who steal dogs don’t steal them to re-home them. So why do people do this? Don’t you love your dog? Wouldn’t you want to prevent this entirely preventable situation if you love them? Of course, this particular photo has a whole other element of absent mindedness, so I guess they’re just plain stupid ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ll tell you what I want… Katamari Damaci online multi player. Imagine the final level where you roll up the world but with the mechanics of the multiplayer mode that was already in place. It’ll be like agar.io where you get bigger and you absorb other people as you get bigger or you get absorbed because you weren’t quick enough at growing. They could update the levels to be themed and add new items and Easter eggs for you to discover and pick up. I want this soooooo bad! I want to play with my friends and strangers. I want different play modes where you get the biggest in the time, pick up the most of a specific thing, capture the flag, use your katamari to play golf but it gets harder if you pick up weird shaped stuff that throws off your balance, Easter egg hunt, racing, team games where you absorb the enemy!!! I want it alllllll!!!
