A US-Israeli attack hit a key bridge on a main highway in northern Iran on Thursday, in the latest escalation in the region, Iranian media reported.

According to Fars News Agency, multiple sites were struck in the Azimieh area near the city of Karaj, including the B1 Bridge, described as the highest bridge in the Middle East.

The outlet said several people were injured in the attack, and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.

The strike caused damage to the bridge, which was part of a major road infrastructure project and was expected to be inaugurated soon, according to the report.
