Hey y’all. While I didn’t see anything in the last thread about this that warranted removal, I would just like to remind everyone to be(e) nice, and remember there are other people on the other side of the screen. As expected. I’m eager to see how everything will play out. I’m happy Kotick will finally be completely gone, but I’m not happy about consolidation.
Precisely how I feel about it, too. I’m glad ActiBlizz employees will hopefully have a better working environment. Plus, I can play WoW again without supporting a human-sized scrotum. 😁
But the sheer size of Microsoft at this point is a bit alarming. It’s like watching Disney buying Marvel and LucasArts: a looming giant that will either fall or trample everything underfoot.
My boycot of Starcraft is until Kotick leaves or a verifiable change in culture at (Acti-)Blizzard, I can’t believe I’m cheering for Microsoft to kick that money-grubbing gremlin of a CEO out.
Rationally, I know I should be unhappy with the acquisition. But a part of me is hopeful that this will bring back Blizzard as we fondly remember it before the Activision acquisition, or at least partially.
same here, the optimist (& diablo fan) in me is hoping that microsoft/xbox will make them a good enough company to where i feel comfortable giving them my money again, but the cynical part of my mind is just telling me that they’ll probably just go “welp, kotick’s gone, diablo 4 on game pass everyone!” then go “hands off” & just ignore the company aside from uploading their games to gamepass & funding them, like they did with arkane. hope i’m wrong though
